Sarah Finnigan is a Texas-based artist who found her way to art in a circuitous manner. Feverishly pursuing music from a young age, she attended college for tuba performance but found herself distracted from practice when she fell in love with art. Her inspiration is built on a youth spent getting lost in adventure games, exploring in the woods, and being captivated by astronomy and the night sky.
Sarah's work is achieved through a glazing technique to create luminous acrylic paintings. Her work has been published in Magic: The Gathering, Infected By Art, ImagineFX and others, and has exhibited by Society of Illustrators West, Haven Gallery, Every Day Original, the A.R. Mitchell Museum, and more.

“Places have long held particular importance to me. The shaping forces on a landscape and the evidence people leave behind in abandoned places intrigue us with their stories. We are so affected by the spaces we inhabit. I paint landscapes that carry those fingerprints of what our environments mean to us, in luminous transparent layers of acrylics on wood. I seek to draw the viewer in as a solitary explorer.
Wide horizons, towering clouds, and vast starry skies inspire reverence, awe, and wonder, as well as a sense of smallness and insignificance that fills me with great appreciation for and intimidation of this astonishing world. I strive to reflect that through my paintings.”
